Dr Shantal Munro Knight serves as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with responsibility for culture, sustainable development, climate resilience including water resources, public sector performance management under Commitment for Results, and public service affairs. Her leadership reflects a belief that strong systems exist to serve people and deliver fairness, opportunity, and accountability.

She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority and leads SMK Associates, a consultancy focused on policy development, training, gender analysis, and evaluation. She spent seventeen years in the non profit social development sector as head of the Caribbean Development Centre, working across the region with governments and international partners.

Dr Munro Knight holds an MSc in International Trade Policy from UWI Cave Hill and a PhD in Public Sector Leadership from Walden University. She has also lectured part time at UWI in political science and is a respected social and political commentator.

Her leadership style is structured, thoughtful, and people focused, consistently linking policy reform to real outcomes for communities and the public service.
