Dr Romel Springer is an academic, legislator, and community advocate with a distinguished record in education, heritage, and public service. He holds a PhD in Linguistics and has made significant contributions to national curriculum development and identity-based education.
He currently serves as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Works, focusing on resilient infrastructure and public transportation. He previously served as a Government Senator and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, where he played a leading role in revising the national history syllabus.
Dr Springer is an active participant in parliamentary oversight and international legislative dialogue, and a committed member of the Barbados Labour Party, having held several senior party leadership roles.
